Uni hijinks+Shutter Island

Well, well, well. It seems I have been letting this blog get a little dusty of late but it's so damn hard to find the time and the effort to write about, well, myself. I do wonder if anyone would still bother to read this but I guess that's not the important thing.

Last week was great. I came back to uni on tuesday, Lewis moved into the room opposite me the following day (it's surprisingly normal having him live in the same flat), saturday we went shopping and I brought a new dress and sunday we went to see Shutter Island in the evening.

Saturday night was mental, Alex came over and he cooked a yummy dinner then spent the whole evening socialising with my friends. No one was drunk but we were all very hyper and with how loud we were all being, anyone would have thought we would have been drunk. At one point Matt took our phone off the hook and gave it to Lewis who then threw it out the window!!!! It was fucking hilarious. Alex then rushed downstairs to go get the phone, I followed soon after as I thought he wouldn't know where he was going but it was dark and I couldn't see him anywhere so I went upstairs to see if he was up there, he wasn't. Lewis, Matt and Rach came down with me round the back of our flats to see if he was there. We used our mobile phones as torches, Lewis was at the front and I was just behind rachel. I made some sort of comment about how it felt like zombies could jump out at any moment. Just as I said that, Alex jumped out from behind the corner at Lewis. We all screamed. It was fucking hilarious. Especially as Lewis had accidently knocked Alex in the face then rebounded his fist into his own face! Think Lewis had a fat lip the rest of the night. After all that craziness Matt grabbed the phone and we all went back upstairs.

I managed to interview Alex for my article, I really need to start writing that...I only needed to ask 3 questions because Alex nattered on so much! Which is great because I think he'll make a perfect case study and I only need 200 words of him just talking. Now to do the hard part and find a day when I can sit down by myself in silence and listen to the recording whilst typing it up at the same time...there's going to be a lot of rewinding and playing me thinks...Siiiigh.

When the others went to be me and Alex stayed up until 4am playing Rock Band, 3-2 to him on duel mode, and Resident Evil Gold where we managed to start and finish "Desperate Escape" which was mental but awesome fun. He then ended up driving home at crazy o'clock and I got some much needed sleep.

Sunday evening we were debating whether to either see Kick Ass or Shutter Island. Shutter Island won and I am so glad it did. It had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. It also had me cry a great deal which surprised me but then it did have some very moving images, especially of the Nazi consentration camps. Amazing how something that happened that long ago still has such a strong impact. But then again, it is the most horrifying thing humanity has ever done. It scares me what human beings are capable of.

After we saw the film it was nearing midnight, Rachel and Joe went to Wetherspoons for a bit, Matt and Ellie walked home and me and Lewis messed around in a kids park. Never under-estimate swings people. Then me and Lewis were sneaky ninjas as we followed Rach and Joe home without them even noticiing! Win! Fun times :) Just gotta get some work done now...
