MCM

I did not sleep well the night before MCM. I woke up at about 3am, I'd been rubbing my eyes in my sleep as they were very itchy and sore. I got up, went to the loo, went back into my room and turned on my light. I looked in the mirror to see my eyes were bloodshot which made me very worried as I wondered whether I would be able to wear contact lenses later that day. Looking in the mirror and the bright light suddenly made me feel hot, sick and dizzy so I rushed to turn off the light and went back to bed. I avoided touching my eyes and hoped I would be better in the morning. When I did get up the next morning my eyes were fine but I still felt sick. I really don't know why, I ate, I drank but still felt a bit dodgy. I prayed for it to pass, I mean, of all days why did I have to feel bad today! I think it was some sort of weird excited-nervousness that made me feel ill but once I'd been up an hour I felt much better. The sore eyes at 3am? Probably caused by the fact George the uni halls cat had been sleeping on my bed and I am very so slightly allergic to cats, the hair must have got in my eyes and irritated them but luckily these things wear off.

I soon recieved a text from Matt starting: "Jill. Captain Wesker here..." which made me laugh and realise we would be calling each other by our character names for most of the day! The boys arrived in under an hour, Alex got changed at mine whilst I chatted to my flatmate Ellie in the hallway and then we all set off to Argos to get Alex some kneepads and a back-pack from a camping shop. Once Chris was finally equipt we set off to the station...

On one of the trains on the way to excel we bumped into Martyn which was lucky! We must have been on the same train as him without realising it. Alex spotted him and we got the train together to MCM which was lucky because Martyn didn't know the trains to excel were actually running now! When we got there it was 10 minutes before 12 which was good timing on our part! We stopped on the bridge and waited for Martyn to change into his Red Dead cowboy outfit (he was wearing two pairs of jeans don't worry!). Once he was changed we met up with the others who had started walking towards where we were. I said hi to everyone with a hug though I didn't quite expect Craig to pick me up! Iain, Holly and Rich were running late so we didn't meet up with them until a couple of hours later at the resident evil photoshoot.

The Resi photoshoot was great fun. We met a couple dressed as Chris and Jill who snapped with me and Alex as we were in the same costumes as each other! They were lovely people as were all the many people in Resi costumes! It was so cool to meet people who were as big as fans as us! Once it had got too cold and wet the photoshoot moved indoors. We did not follow though as Agent 47, Richie and Holly had arrived! As soon as I saw Iain I yelled "Agent 47!" and ran up to hug him. I was closely followed by Alex and Matt which crushed me into Bossman! Hope he didn't get too squished by us! We said hello to Holly and Richie too before finally making our way inside the expo. There wasn't much in there this year but there were some awesome wrestlers, some robots, the A team and Mystery machine vans along with a few exclusive playable demos.

Being in costume made the day. It's a strangly good feeling to have people coming up to you and asking to have their photo taken with you as well as a few "Hey! It's Jill Valentine!". A very sweet little girl who didn't talk at all wanted a picture of me, Matt and Alex so we happily posed for her and she thanked us all with a hug and ran off! She didn't say a word! It was so sweet.

Later on after a little aggrovation and a lot of walking we ended up outside a bar at MCM. It was very cold and I ended up being kept warm by Alex and Martyn, twas very kind of them! Once we'd rested our feet and were fed up with the cold we went inside until me, Alex, Matt and Martyn had to head home. It was a shame because from what I heard the others had a great time getting merry together! Wish I could have stayed but I had to get home as I was going back to Portsmouth the next day. The day was so much fun though and it was great to meet Rich, Rhys and Michael off the OPM group as well as see the lovely minions again. <3
